The author sent me an ARC a couple of weeks ago, but today I bought my own copy. She deserves it! It's a story full of magic and true love, and surprises to boot!. This book was just okay for me. I found Olivia quite unlikable for the first 3/4 of the book. She's immature, irresponsible, and very very jealous. I'm thankful that her character turns around in Jake's time of need. It wasn't bad but it could have been better.
Here is a story of a race car driver and an unusual fan. She has never put money down on any kind of race. But when she wins the long shot her driver becomes obsessed with her as his good luck charm. She goes off with him. It was a fun read and fast passed.
I just can't tell you how much I loved this book! I truly believe it touched on every basic emotion in a relationship. I laughed, cried, got mad, and then as their relationship came together in the end I was elated. Very well written and a love story for all time! Jake and Olivia are two characters I will never forget!
Olivia (Liv) and Jacob (Jake) have an instant connection the day they meet at the race track. "Lady Luck" is on her side when she bets on the cutest driver to win. From that moment Liv starts the ride of her life and travels all over Europe with Jake as his good luck charm. When their passion hits a rough patch, it's a downward spiral. You've got to read this one to find out if Jake's career has run out of luck and if he and Liv can patch things up.
Olivia is struggling to make ends meet and is down to her last $100. She spends it all on a long-shot at a car race and she wins! She's so stoked that she goes to thank the race car driver, Jacob. Love at first sight hits them both and they spend the rest of the book trying to figure out if this is love or just lust.
I didn't like the instant love aspect to this story and at times, I didn't care for either Olivia or Jacob. There wasn't any build-up of romance, which I'm always looking for in romance. The plot was like a clogged car engine... it sputtered along and eventually gave out. Wasn't for me.
Liv is down on her luck and one day she goes to the races at daytona with her friend and decides to be her last 100 on the racer she thought was cute even though he was in last place. She winds up winning 5K and then decides to sneak by security and tell him. He then calls her his lucky charm. He takes her on the road and he keeps winning but winning has changed Jake and Liv doesnt like it so she leaves. Then tragedy strikes ans they are brought together again. Will fate give them a second chance?

Fast paced action - 4 stars
I absolutely loved the storyline for this book, but I wish the flow had been smoother — I don't really care for storylines that jump around so much. Olivia goes to her first ever Daytona Race and ends up placing a crazy bet on a driver she knows nothing about, just by picking the cutest guy from the pictures. When she ends up winning five thousand dollars from her measly hundred dollar bet, she is beside herself. She goes to thank Jacob and they end up hooking up. When he asks her to join him on the road, she jumps at the chance since she has no job at the moment. So begins a journey into the high life. Most of the book was fast moving, without a lot of angst, which made it good for a light afternoon of reading. But, it takes a tragedy to force these characters to grow up and face what is going on. A truly heart touching story.
