This is one of the best books I've read. Very interesting and informative. Rather different and amusing while getting thinking cap on.
Enjoyed this book when I first read it, but had loaned it out and never saw it again so I got it on the kindle and am enjoying it again. I've been missing McCrumb's Elizabeth MacPherson series.
Very clever and tongue in cheek mystery. Great light reading! It kept me interested until the end. Not for everyone, but if it's your style, it is wonderful. I love this author and will read more of her work!

Sharyn McCrumb is very simply the finest of the great storytellers in the mountain tradition. She takes the reader by the hand and leads them into the misty trails on the Smoky Mountains and holds them spellbound while she weaves her storytelling magic. If you are born in the lovely hills you will find new pride in hailing from these Southern mountains. If you are not from these hills, you will want to start a fund to travel to see the regions McCrumb writes about. Y'all come!
You wouldn't expect to find yourself laughing at a murder mystery, but you can't help it. The novel has several plots involving husbands and wives, some of whom have killed their husbands. The dialogue is really witty in places. The thing that really grabbed me was the dolphin subplot. What kind of mind could ever have come up with this one? I won't ruin anything for you by elaborating.. All I can say is that I kept laughing out loud as I read it.
The mind of Sharyn McCrumb is an amazing place indeed.
